Wow! That's trippy!

(I half expected it to be one of those things where you stare at something and them some monster flashes on the screen and screams at you. This was cool though.)

Here's one of my favourite optical illusions:
http://www.michaelbach.de/ot/col_lilacChaser/index.html

I also love the rotating snakes:
http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/rotsnakee.html
Hard to believe that it's not moving at all! But if you focus on one area, you'll see that the motion stops there.

Edit: The rest of the site with the rotating snakes is well worth checking out, too: http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/index-e.html

That first one was great. I made the "rotating snakes" my desktop background.

Be careful not to look at it too much, you might turn crazy.

Edit: Wait, you are a Gnipe, so you must already be crazy.

I've convinced myself that since I see movement, it must be an effective screen saver.

That was cool! I noticed that when I did move my eyes it turned black and white also. I expected it to go to the original colors.

Thank you.

I didn't have much luck getting the snakes to rotate.

But a thank you to Nordlys for some cool sites.

Whoa!

Try looking to the top left, back to the right, diagnal bottom... keep shifting your eyes, don't stare.

They spin ever so slightly.

OK, that does work. It is a slight spin. Thanks Phlab.

These are truly amazing.
Especially that coloured one. That just blew my mind.

Excellent stuff.

In fact, when you stare away from the spot (when it goes black and white) and then re-look at the spot, the colour comes back, only slightly less prominant!
