untrue - most people can't but many can. A silly 'science' show in the UK called "Brainiac" has a slot called "things you can't do" or similar. After they announced this, that you can't lick your own elbow (because the length of your neck + tongue is always less than the length of your forearm) they had to announce a retraction and ask people to stop sending in photos of them licking their own elbows because they couldn't cope with the volume.

Same show (Brainiac) tried this one with a massive piece of very thin paper, and a whole team to fold it. Because you double the thickness of the fold each time, and a double of a double of a double very quickly becomes very large, it's true. I think they might have even reached 7 or 8, but didn't breach it.
