the marx brothers film. at the start, the vice-captain (or whatever hes called) knows there's four stowaways. when asked why he knows, he replies "as they are singing Sweet Adeline". so, how does he know there is four of them then? is harpo singing?!?

that's my point - cause if that happened, then harpo spoke! well - sang, but still!
