Recently Aynat created an important thread which asked for people to help children who have had their innocence stolen from them.
I was wondering why this thread was removed? Was it something that was considered too much of a debate thread? If so, why not move it to the debate forum? Or was it because it was too frighteningly real for people in the virtual world?
Originally posted by martin williamswith the greatest of respect, i have to disagree. i'm glad the thread was removed. not because of the issue it raised, but because of the hysterical manner in which the author chose to convey his/her message. it was badly written, subjective, and heavy-handed, and used language inappropriate to the matter being discussed.
I thought it was a very worthwhile, if shocking, thread.
Child abuse is an issue that needs people to be made aware of.
Perhaps it would have been better suited to the debates forum, but I think deletion was unnecessarily heavy-handed.
as usual, imho.
That is one of the sickest stupidest posts I've ever read. If there is a problem like that, a chess forum is not the place to ask about it. There are councilors, police, lawyers, etc in real life that should be contacted.
What a bull crap thread.

There have been so many casual references to child sexual assault and pornography here in the forums
That is bull crap too.
