more questions from a newbie

where do i find the rules and 'etiquette' - for example

a game is started but your opponent doesn't continue eg hasn't made
a move for a couple of days, does he/she forfeit after the time is up,
is it classed as a draw, abandoned lost etc etc ?

if you start a game (and i am assuming we are playing from all over
the world) and you are going to be unavailable for several hours eg
meeting, going to bed or whatever, is it polite/expected to e-mail your
opponent to advise ?

We don't have a page of etiquette, although the help file should help
with any technical questions.

That is a fine idea, though, I will draw up a list of guidelines for
players so that everyone knows what to expect, or the best way to
conduct games (although, as I am only ranked 58 in the most active
players list, I would be very grateful for any suggestions from players
who have more experience using the site than I do).

The first thing I would suggest to anyone new to RHP is to read
through the "help me" page. After that get a game or two going with
someone who has been around the site for a while and has several
games completed. Any questions that occur to you can most likely be
asked and answered with your opponents. I would also suggest
browsing through the forum posts. I've been playing here for quite a
while and in my opinion most of the players I have encountered would
be willing to be helpful to newcomers...
