I got my mortgage approval yesterday 🙂

We had our eyes on a house in a certain area, but the guy hasn't got back to us so we're looking at a house nearbye that is €15,000 cheaper. Loan approval is a BIG leverage point at the moment, and we are determined to be land owners before the summer is out so we can have a barbeque in our new garden before the summer ends 🙂

sites useful over here for charting value trends on particular properties are zillow.com and redfin.com, and for crime maps spotcrime.com.

(zillow graphs are actually broken at the moment, but they're better when they work.)

Crime shouldn't be an issue in the area we're looking at.

Which bank? I got mine with Natwest and they were great until the approval and the signing of the contract. Then it took them forever to complete the process with the solicitor and it almost fell through because the seller started to get fidgety.

We went with an Irish bank over here. They were easy enough to work with, but they don't count my work allowances and regular overtime towards the mortgage amount anymore so we didn't get as much as we thought we would. The wife heard that the EBS gives more, but i decided that we should instead cut our cloth and keep our mortgage repayments down. We're looking at a property tomorrow for €275,000 and we'd like to be moved into somewhere soon.

Does it have a recording studio in the garage or basement so we don't have to look at your bedroom?
