She came from a good family to start with, I believe, so I wouldn't see her as gold digger. Onassis meant security which she may have needed, and indepence of the Kennedy clan which may have been important too.

Will we ever "really" know? She would have been "secure" had she stayed with the Kennedy clan I would have though but, perhaps not secure enough for her tastes.

I would have thought she was a prisoner in that family, doing what was expected, almost like member of any Royal family. With Onassis she had a very different life.

I think she came from a wealthy family
I don't think she was in any way a gold digger
she had a long list of suitors
