Staying in the Kennedy family, she would for a long time be remembered as John Kennedy's widow and she was too young for that. Unfortunately, very much so, she died too early.

But were any of those suitors headed, eventually, to the White House? Being the wife of a President of the US ensured that she would never be lost in time.

I think she was very much in love with John Kennedy, and all his affairs - which everyone knows about by now - must have been extremely difficult for her. She was too much a part of the Kennedy family to be able to change her life in a radical way there. She had to get away. I think so.
