I agree. Anything by Mariah Carey is overplayed, especially her "hero" song that has been on the news this week because she sang it at the Inaugural.

For G-d's sake, there was a good artist at the White House this week, too. Wynton Marsalis!

Dave Matthews Band plays the same setlist of songs over and over again. And as if to rub it in, they seem to always play the axe-murder-inducingly overplayed All Along The Watchtower as their encore. And then to rub it in even more, they release concert after concert on CD all with the same songs, and all with All Along The Watchtower as the encore. Seemingly.

The macarena was overplayed when it came out. I remember a radio station in my hometown played it non stop for an entire weekend.

Most played songs change all the time. I remember "Closing Time" was ruined by being played on the radio every 40 minutes, and at bars when it was time to close.

Nothing ruins a song more than playing it ALL THE TIME.
