The stuff about mistakes / bad editing in the LOTR thread inpired this thread. Rant and rave about mistakes made in making the movie from a good book or just stupid scenes in movies etc etc.
This worst rendition ever from a pretty decent book must have been Hannibal.
The screenwirters probably leafed through the book on some warm afternoon in Hollywood and decided that they knew better than Thomas Harris. Characters were just left out or their personalities changed significantly (Hannibal Lecter cutting off his own hand - I mean come on!).
Give your thoughts!
Let Hollywood know that their days of screwing with good books are over 😛
Hey, Spider Man was a good movie and all... but part of the fun was Peter Parker being a science guy and making his special webs for different villians. In the movie he had spider glands...
WHY WHY WHY! Just dumb!
The worst movie from a good book was "The Keep"... Forget the auther.... but the movie stunk compared to the book!

One for me is Fight Club.
Originally posted by ChrismoFlight Club was pretty good, so I guess I won't ruin the story and read it!

The Miss's read "Angela's Ashes" and saw the movie... she doesn't like the way the movie doesn't show what a real "Useless Fek" the guy really is. In the book he was a flat out jerk, in the movie he was tolerable.

Dune was a pretty poor film translation. The book is probably my favourite of all time, but the film changed so much. People have been bitching about the LOTR films, but I think Peter Jackson did a bang up job on them, all the quibbles are mostly piffling generally unimortant differences. Dune, by contrast, was changed significantly for the worse. Don't even get me started

Originally posted by PaulieThat's not really any excuse. For the time it was made, it actually looks quite good. Much of the sets are like I imagined them. But....rain on Dune? Where did that come from?

Spiderman mistake - whne Peter Parker is climbing up walls, you can see his shirt hanging horizontally. That means you know that they shot the scene horizontally.😲
Originally posted by D43M0NI knew that Dune was terraformed, but in the film, Paul just snaps his fingers or something and suddenly it's raining. And the Dune film was only based on the original book, not the sequels

Another funny(ish) mistake from the pretty horrible 'Wild Wild West':
At one stage 'ol Will Smith gets on a trolley thingey and tries to get underneath the baddie's train from his train.
Which is pretty funny because the trolley thingey runs on the train tracks...
if you look closely the wheels of the trolly thing extent to go on the inside of the rail (not on top of the rail) so that way it wouldent mess with the train on the top of the track.🙄
