He was also not blond. If Daniel Craig can pull that off, we might be ready for a black Bond. I support the notion.

Edit: Not so for a female Bond. I do not think the world is quite ready for that, yet.
It depends on what kind of Bond we want. A female Bond might be entertaining but to me a 007 agent means masculine power. I vote Tom Hardy.

Hardy would indeed be an interesting Bond, but I favour Elba after watching him in the tv series Luther.

Ooooh, Tom Hardy.

I could go for that, too. Quite a good choice, actually.

Another good choice, in terms of sheer masculinity, would be Alan Ritchson. Yeah, I know, he's American, but they can't all be perfect. 🙂

He was so good in Luther.

They released a movie with Elba in the same role. I enjoyed that.

Edit: It was Luther: The Fallen Sun, released early 2023 on Netflix.

I can see him adapting that role to a more damaged Bond persona.

Yes, that's what made Luther so believable, I think.

Bond has had a life full of trauma. I think Elba could carry that off.

I think only 2 actors could pull that off, Elba and Benedict Cumberbatch. (The latter probably less believable in the role).

If it sounds stupid, odds are they just may do it! 🙂

Barbara Broccoli is a smart woman, I trust her choice for the role, whomever it is.

Tom Hardy rather than Benedict Cumberbatch, I would say.

The complexity is what makes James Bond so interesting.

That could be interesting. As an entirely new character, whoever they got would have to be good, to not destroy the concept going forward.

Angelina Jolie did a couple movies with that type of character, but she may be getting a bit old for that kind of action now, hard to say. Charlize Theron might be open to it. Some other names might include Jessica Alba, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, even Keri Russell. There's always Scarlett Johansson, but she's too connected to Black Widow.

Yes, totally agree. But Elba over Hardy. 🙂

My vote would be for Emily Blunt.

She was so good in Sicario (2015).

It depends on whom they choose for 007, there must be chemistry between them, she must be strong enough to match him.

Michelle Dockery acted in The Gentlemen, very convincing.
