How about a game called "Plagiarism"
Everyone plays a talentless designer with no inspiration or ideas of their own that has to go around stealing other people's ideas before anyone else does.
Anyways, as for ideas. Here's a few (Examples will be for PC only) :
- Sports: These are an awesome idea! A lot of people like sports and a multiplayer game where you play in teams sounds like a good idea since most MMOs have team play as almost an underlying idea. An example of a sport MMO is Shot Online. It's sport is Golf (Which strangely enough it is actually a fun game.)
- Fantasy RPGs: As always, a classic and one of those hallmarks of the MMO world. They can either appear as elements of a game or the game itself! An example of this would be FlyFF
- Asian Fantasy RPGs: This is a subgendre of the fantasy RPG gendre. An example of this would be Silkroad online (Caution: This is as laggy as hell and should only really be played if you're feeling brave and don't care about lagging.)
- Fighting/shoot em' ups: This is a rather interesting type of MMO that's in a lot of games today. It doesn't have to appear as a stand alone MMO but part of a much larger game. Examples of these could be: Gunz: The Duel (Example of a stand alone), Halo (Multiplayer), Tron 2.0 (Multiplayer) and Counter Strike.
- Flight: Quite a few MMOs are either featuring flight as an element of their games (Example: FlyFF) or it deals the the heart of the game. An example of this is Sky Raiders.
- Sci-fi: Also can appear as an element or at the heart of the game. This can also have attributes or be at the heart of flighing games. An example of this is Space Cowboy online.
- Sims: These are generally life sim games. So just think of something like The Sims only online and you are the Sim itself and not you controlling a bunch of Sims. These are usually trying to create digital societies where players can own houses and so forth. An example of this is OZ World.
- Dance (DDR) : This kind of game is like Dance Dance Revolution only on a computer instead of at an arcade and played online. an example of this is Audition: Online Dance Battle
Hopefully, you can get some ideas from those. Those are just a few that came off the top of my head (Since I play a lot of MMOs anyways).

It's a good idea to list different types of games. I've never heard of some of the games you mentioned. But, it will be fun to check them out π That's what great about IT, working is enjoyable(most of the time).
I'm from Mauritius and I want to do something that related to my country. I was thinking of a mario type of racing game. You would have a character (example the dodo) and a landscape (example beaches) that would represent mauritius. The dodo is an extinct bird, so the character would to avoid different obstacles such as holes and nets. Not sure what you will get at the end of the game. It's multiplayer, so you should get a winner. But what would be the point of the game? i mean the storyline? I guess the dodo might race for shelter. But i don't know....i want to come up with something better than shelter.

Anyways, so you want a Mario Cart styled game? Well.... my first recomendation in that regard is think of the users. If it's an MMO, I don't think they would want to be bound to a story line too much or they would freak! I recomend looking at some of those Flight MMOs and what they would have to offer. I know, it's flying but imagine if those were the cars instead of aircraft. Then build off of that a little bit. Add some RPGish elements that would allow the user to customize their cars and drivers. You could also (if you're feeling very brave) launch a PC version and a cell phone version. (Of course, they wouldn't be compatable with eachother and the PC people can only play with other PC people and the phone people can only play with other phone people) That way, you can get all sorts of users in on the game.
Anyways, if you need some more help, I'm always one PM away. ^^
