And why do you feel the need to educate multi-account abusers/spammers in how to avoid being caught?
D
Although the education I provide is common knowledge nowadays, and a recurring spammer or multi-account abuser aren't likely to stop even if they think there is an easy way for the administrators to identify them as being the same person.
I guess what I'm trying to do is push things in a direction where a change of rules and/or strategy is in order to better avoid the problems with spammers and multi-account abusers taking up precious site bandwidth.
For instance, I sort of like the idea of non-subscribers not being allowed to post in the forums. That should take care of a lot of spam (albeit also lose a few really good posters in the process). But how likely are you to pay (again and again) for the right to spam a forum? Also, if you are a moderated subscriber, thrown out of the site, I don't think you should get your money back (as I understand is the case now). That should also help in keeping spammers out. Finally, what if you (as a non-subscriber) could earn the right to participate in the forums? It could begin with you being allowed to participate in a thread of your choice and you may say anything you like so long as you're not spamming (and found guilty of spamming by the almighty RHP administrator team). If that happens, you lose your privileges completely. However, if you "behave" according to the rules of the site, you may finally earn the right to enter any thread, start new threads and fully participate in the forum discussions.

I'm taking that ''last silencing'' as a sign of the approval
...of ''my new account''.
It ain't up to you what I choose for my new account. Everyone's free unless they DON'T violate TOS.
I'll respect the silencing and that's all there was to this power game.

For instance, there are a lot of yahoo.com accounts, you can get free ones anywhere. My suffix happens to be ptd.net so I could have judis@ptd.net and rubber@ptd.net and virginterritory@ptd.net, etc, then get a free gmail account and log in with that, a free yahoo account and log in there.
you will get more results talking about it out here where everyone can deal with it than behind closed doors... don't you think?
Get the point?
