Beethoven Piano Concerto n.º 5 Emperor | Lang Lang and Christoph Eschenbach

@PettyTalk
Small world!
I was just listening to some Gary Moore over on youtube.
"The Messiah will come again", and "still got the blues".
The guy knew his way around a guitar, for sure!

@Torunn

I love that concerto, especially the slow second movement.

Beethoven Piano Concerto n.º 5 Emperor | Lang Lang and Christoph Eschenbach
First heard the slow movement as soundtrack to ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’. It is music of such exquisite tenderness, love and yearning, and I love the way it gradually and inexorably segues into the majestic final movement. Beethoven is a colossus of the classical world, one foot firmly planted in the Classical age, but leaping into the Romantic. Cannot imagine life without Beethoven or Bach by my side!

I love Lang Lang's interpretations of classical music - his brilliance, energy, joy, humour.

The Chinese pianists, (Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Yunchan Lin etc) have extraordinary technique and charisma in their playing, but I sometimes yearn for the solidity of Brendel, especially in Beethoven.

Interesting πŸ™‚

Another take on classical music is the twist Jazz can put to it, which is a heavenly mix, for a change in the times. The time of the end... death, and the resurrection of the old classical music on another platform, Jazz.

Background sounds when I'm playing and analyzing chess. This music unlocks my creative side. πŸ™‚

I'm briefly feeling happy, and this tune started to tickle my ears. However, I had to look it up, since I had not listened to this one for a long time.

The Rain The Park And Other Things.

Life is but a dream!

Some things can only be accomplished when you are alone. The game of life is a solitary endeavor, like a dream, and where victory or defeat is determined solely by oneself. After all, don't we dream alone? Maybe!
