Has anyone seen those "offensive" cartoons that were printed in that Danish newspaper? Any links on the web?

What a shame. I thought they weren't going to back down. It's a sad day.

blimey, what a disappointment. those cartoons are rubbish, they'd never make it into private eye... i especially like the fact the newspaper has itself censored the cartoon of one of the cartoonists who didn't produce the expected goods. what a load.

I feel like placing a fatwa on the heads of the cartoonists for damaging the respected genre of caricature.

But I defend their right to do it. The wasters.

Anyway, this is being discussed in the debates forum as we speak!

The people protesting against these cartoons think it's alright to wave placards about calling for beheadings and making death threats - seems to me that that's worse than some silly cartoons.

Don't forget Salmon Rushdie, under death threats for years for
writing a book pointing out how muslims treat women, so whats
new about hot headed muslims getting all up in arms about a
supposed picture of Mohammed? It just proves my point that
religion makes people insane. Just look at David Coresh, Jim
Jones, Bin Laden, Pat Robertson, the Iatolahs, they are all nutty
as a fruitbin. There bibles are missing a few chapters, They
want to force religion on you or kill you trying. That is a pretty
good definition of insane if you ask me.

As far as I know it wasn't about treatment of women, but about how Rushdie described teh creation of the Qu'ran

Something interesting about the whole Danish cartoon controversy is to be found in Richard Dawking's "The god delusion."

In it he claims that the mullahs (or whoever) who spread the cartoons around in the Islamic world added a few extra cartoons which were highly provocative in nature (which weren't even published in Denmark). So the stirring of the pot was intentional.

Obviously anybody who gets their knickers (or their headscarves in this case) in a twist about a bloody cartoon needs their heads examined.

They are hilarious. I love the "Stop stop we have run out of virgins" ... if that won't stop the war, what will?!
