we'd would welcome them though if, by some quirk of fate*, they joined.

it's that thought that counts... 🙂

How have I offended them?

The Silent Majority embraces all non-subs.

We would welcome them into our clan.

All are welcome.

We speak for that vast Silent Majority of RHP users too timid to stand up to the bullies. We speak for all who are out cast. We speak for all who are discriminated against.
Keep it up, -i'm sure eventually some-one will vote for you.

What wrong with having a place to go where you do not have to worry about what snide remark is going to be tossed at you next?

I find it is more uninteresting to talk down upon people. I fine it very appealing actually getting to know them.

“My enemy's enemy is my friend.” Is a great line to open your mind to and bring people into a conversation.

Pity it was meant as a snide remark.

And yet the line you quote IS *talking down upon people*! If one's frame of reference in dealing with others begins with love, then there are no *enemies,* just people with opposing opinions. And to say, in effect, *if you hat the people who hate me, then we're buddies* is also not coming from a framework of love and kindness but rather marking out territory in a pissing contest.

You bring in a valid point of view and it is very refreshing. I did not think of the starting point of the quote. I associated it with passed wars not players on rhp. I think the quote was originally spoken in a speech of a military general. I googled, but it did not come right up. I would be interested in being reminded what the original quote was and by whom.

Thanks. Found it listed as an old Arab proverb.
