about 14 mos. ago i purchased a 20'' viewsonic lcd monitor this morning it wouldn't turn on i'm using my old crt monitor any help or ideas would be appreciated thanks
but anyway, call viewsonic maintenance, and they'll pick up the monitor from your place, fix it, and bring it back for free. well, that's how it works around here anyway. - I think the warranty for all viewsonic monitors is 36 months.
if the monitor came back on after the few minutes break, you have a problem though. because when it's working, it's very unlikely the maintenance guys can locate the problem, and it might take months (like in my case) before it shuts down again. but gradually I started getting more and more blackouts, and over time it went as bad as shutting down after 20-30 minutes, when I finally took it to the maintenance. (a bit of a risk of burning your house down there though, having a faulty electric device plugged in.)
how does it plug into your pc...? is it dvi..? does your motherboard have its own dvi slot, if so, try it in there.... does it work..? if not, when you say it doesnt work, do you get the white text on the screen when you switch on the pc and then it doesnt work..? can you try the monitor on another pc... or on a laptop..? does it work.... also, do you get the green light on the monitor but no image...?
