Okay, okay...
I admit, that last thing you need is a balding 35 year old whining about something as unimportant as crappy threads.
BUT
When I read them I'm always left wondering: "Why?"
Not specifically, although admittadly, I quite often do wonder why the thread was created in the first place, but more "Why is that in your top 10, 5, or whatever?"
Top 3 war films:
1. The great escape
2. Full metal jacket
3. Dr. Strangelove.
All well and bloody good, but WHY!
Why on earth do you have two Kubrick films in your top 3?
What do you like about the great escape? The acting? The build-up? The escape? The disasterous end?
WHY????
WHY????
WHAT???
See. And this is where I want to go with this post.
I can see nothing wrong with top 10 posts, favourite cartoon posts or best sexual position posts (one in which I certainly would participate), but let's for god's sake add arguments to back up our decisions!
This means two things:
1. No more top 10's. Because, unless you're like me and have WAY too much time on your hands, it takes way too much effort to explain a full top 10.
So, let's stick to top 3's.
2. It means you get DEBATE on various issues, instead of just slandering (or is it libaling?) one's position that Seinfeld is the greatest comedy over South Park.
Meaning it's better for the manner of writing.
It also adds depth.
Now, I know "Depth" is a meaning that most of you will have heard of, but probably not quite fathomed (yes, you may applaud this great little pun) and I also know that some of you know that depth is 40 meters max in a scuba suit.
But the depth I'm talking about is actually getting to understand someone's position on a topic. Even a topic as light-weighted as a top 3.
Thank you for listening.

By Jesus, if I have to reanimate this thread more often than the T-rex one, so be it...
But it shall be read!

On imdb a film website with over 35 million visitors every month, he has 7 films in the top 250 ever. He has directed 16 if you count his first films as well even though some are just 16 min shorts. Some of his first films are not rated as highly as they were his first experiments the directing and film makeing but when he hit his peak it was an increadable one. I his filmography is an incredible achievement and one with few rivals in quality. http://www.imdb.com/chart/top

I nearly agreed with Shav's argument for better presentation of top ten threads, but then it occurred to me that what he's basically asking for - when you break it all down - is Dave Lee Travis.
