I think it's more about power and money, and I'm not anymore saying this is bad than men are drawn towards sexuality. It's just an observation. Dan Rathers was 70+. Bob Schieffer is 70+. Brokaw was up there.

Related to this; has anyone noticed that female TV anchors (especially on the Fox network) are gorgeous, but males tend to be rather plain and older. Perhaps some women can comment on this perception.
It sucks. A little beefcake would certainly encourage me to watch alot more news.

Why do so many television shows and movies have fat guys inexplicably married to an attractive girl? [...] I hardly get a chance to watch television anymore, but it seems every time I watch a show, that is the couples I am seeing. nothing against fat guys, but lets be more realistic here. you never see the clean cut muscle bound guy with the fat girl.
Perhaps the guy wasn't fat when they married? Or perhaps there are far more fat men out there than fat women?

Or maybe, men are in charge of producing those TV-shows, and we like to see fat guys get pretty ladies cause it's a dream and TV-shows are about dreams (in case you haven't noticed).

What fun would a realistic comedy show be? Beautiful girl meets beautiful boy. They date. They enjoy themselves. They get married. They get children. They have more and more argues. They get fat. They divorce. And the fat man starts to drink and runs over some poor shmuck with his car and is then thrown in jail. Yea, that'd be a great show.

[Edit]

Oh, oh, oh, wait!.. That's actually a great theme for a new comedy show. The fat man's in jail cause he was miserable and killed a beautiful young girl (thereby saving her from the misery of growing up) while driving drunk.

It could be hilerious. In jail he's not in control any more than he was in his house. In jail, he's the... you know?.. bad word I can't write here. And the show would be a warning to young people all over. Don't marry. Don't have too many children. Don't get fat. Don't divorce. Because if you do these things you'll end up in jail for merely driving drunk and hitting a beautiful young girl with the car.

I should probably write the first scripts and send it off to a good producer. This will be a hit for sure. 😀

American entertainment is full of them. Another common example is the psychopathic Englishman.

You should broaden your cultural horizons and watch far less of the trash produced in your own country.
Psychopathic Englishmen is a cliche?

Gee, I wonder why...

No you don't. Like every American, you accept it as truth because, since childhood, American TV has taught you all about the world. And you worship TV.

When instead it would make more sense if you just think what Bowmann wants you to think.

..... I want to see ONE episode where the problem for that show is the girls fault....
the fat guys probably the only guy too disgusting for the clean cut muscle bound guys to wanna go out with?? maybe?

the clean cut muscle guy is just a psychological knife twisting on the part of the producers to let you the fat shmuck viewer know that there's no way that sitcom fat guy gets the girl, its just a mirage, playing for the cameras.

washboard guy wouldnt have to learn any lessons. you know that. if you want some of that fat boy, you had better learn what fat guys have to go through for a bit of that.
