anybody taking part this year? I just noticed that it's only a couple of weeks ahead, and realized maybe I should start thinking about it more. maybe decrease gameload to get more time in november etc. -took part twice before, with pathetic results (is there anything else). first time I just got lazy and stopped, and the second time broke my leg and spent 5 days in hospital right from the start. and now I'm gonna try again.
it's just such a ridiculous idea that I absolutely have to do it. 🙂
for those who don't know, nanowrimo is an annual writing 'contest' with the goal of every participator writing 50 000 words during november. yes, it's a book in one month. -there are no actual prizes, and the goal is quantity not quality. it doesn't matter how bad you are, it's the amount of words you suck with that counts!

Originally posted by reader1107last time I built characters in advance, and tried to get some kind of an outline together. but it got boring pretty fast when I actually started writing it. - this time I think I'm going to try freefalling through the story, no outlining, no characters, nothing. I'll just wing it as I go. - one thing I've decided though: it's gonna be filled with dialogue, as I'm really bad at it. 🙂 I figure if I write dialogue everyday for a month, it just has to get better at some point...

Q. Which would you say is the best literary magazine here
for the purpose of publishing a short tale?
Originally posted by wormwoodFreefalling was fun the first year I did it. It was a murder mystery which turned out to have a remarkably high body count. Last year I crashed. I even tried to throw in scenery, which for me is hard because I always skip the scenery paragraphs when I read -- just skim so I know when it's over.
