We just got it for christmas, wonder if anyone else has one. Trying to figure out how to flip image 90degrees and our son accidently turned a color image to black and white, trying to figure out how to get that image back to color. Thanks in advance. I know image editing software can do most of that stuff, just want to try it on the camera first. Also, image editing cannot force color to appear on a black and white without a lot of fiddling, so if the color information is there in the camera flash card it has to be done there.

Image rotation is definitely covered, but it appears that color-to-B&W conversion is permanent, UNLESS you have your camera set to save to RAW format. In this mode, JPG copies are made of any changes, saving the RAW formatted original. If you have it set to save in JPG mode, I'm not sure what to tell you. It's possible that it still saves your original when making changes, but from reading the manual, this is not clear.
*Nice* camera, btw! Congrats!
Originally posted by SuzianneWe already got some nice shots, there is a town near us called Jim Thorpe and we found out about some ruins right off main street, a castle that burned down in 1830! The ruins are still there. Got some nice shot of that. Also, you can buy these lenses in lue of buying a real macro, about 50 bucks compared to 400 for a macro, you just screw it on the end, 58 mm I think is the size, and it allows you to focus a lot closer, there are three lenses in the little kit. I bought two of them, even at 100 bucks they are cheaper than a macro and I was able to focus down to about an inch from the end of the lens. Got some shots that way at the castle ruins that was just moss growing on a rock, a whole ecology in a two inch square area, got nice shots of a few of those, they look like they are really 6 foot high when you look at the resultant picture! Thanks for the advanced manual BTW. Don.

It's part of my sneaky plan, I buy her a thousand dollar camera and she has to come up with some nice pics for my CD I finished but need art work.
