I recently read that Islam will be the most widely practiced religion in the UK by 2020. Currently second largest faith in Britain, estimates suggest that anywhere between 10,000 and 50,000 people a year convert to Islam in the UK, which is currently home to approximately 1.8 million Muslims. 32% of which believe that "Western society is decadent and immoral and that Muslims should seek to bring it to an end".

Originally posted by xsSo let me get this straight. A MUSLIM magazine claims that Islam will be the dominate religion by 2020. Is that their calander or ours. Cause their calender says it's 1426(I could be wrong). So they'll have a long wait.
This is according to Sarah Joseph editor of emel, Britains' first Muslim lifestyle magazine.
The story was also reran in TheGuardian.

... hopefully there will be less English bigots though.
To be fair, though, England has no stranglehold on bigotry.
It's a part of the human condition, like greed and envy.
The targets change from country to country but bigotry lives everywhere. Alas...

Here is a source for some of your statistics.
From the article:
However, six per cent insist that the bombings were, on the contrary, fully justified.
Six per cent may seem a small proportion but in absolute numbers it amounts to about 100,000 individuals who, if not prepared to carry out terrorist acts, are ready to support those who do.
6% support the attrocious bombing of civilians in Britain.
Now here is my question: what percentage of Americans support the
bombing of innocent civilians in Iraq?

Now here is my question: what percentage of Americans support the
bombing of innocent civilians in Iraq?
"As President Bush prepares to address the nation about Iraq tonight, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds that most Americans do not believe the administration's claims that impressive gains are being made against the insurgency, but a clear majority is willing to keep U.S. forces there for an extended time to stabilize the country."
The jumble of statistics in this piece is mind-numbing. I particuarly fear the implications of:
"By a narrow margin, the public continues to think the war has not been worth the cost and bigger majorities fear that Iraq has crippled the ability of the United States to respond to conflicts elsewhere in the world and has damaged efforts to recruit young people into the military. A large majority, about six in 10 people, say the United States is "bogged down" in Iraq."
Big Oil = Big Money = Big Trouble = Big Death Tolls
... and then there's global warming and what it's doing to the climate in Europe & the North American eastern seaboard... but I digress
