What does alert do?

And the post count seems to be set at 0.

You can even edit your posts for up to an hour after posting them!! I
hope this doesn't get abused so people make the person who replies
next look very stupid ;o)

Also, on the thread list page it says "pages 8" and "replies 8". Is this
an error? Should it be "pages 1", "replies 8".
