Sweet Home alabama and Piano Man delete? Really?? those are songs that everyone sings as loud as they can at midnight after 10 beers and bunch of shots. Man, those are staples for the drunk crowd.

I'll take them out but I suspect they will be requested at some point in the night...keep in mind the crowd we're talkin about here

Yeah, I guess it's just a personal thing. I can't stand those songs.

So you need to fit them after something like Stefani (good transition from rock to pop) and some other rump shakers to make it work. So the order in your list needs working on too.
the numbers don't mean anything...they were all just off the top of my head. Once i get the set list down, i'll work on the order.

Ok, just checking. Anyway, ultimately, you're the one who knows the crowd so you have to decide if what we're saying makes sense or not, in this case.

Dude, Bad Romance is a wicked tune.

(Cue Palynka's XTina suggestions)
I suffer from my own opinions about new music. I hear something now that reminds me of something I heard 15 years ago and I automatically don't like it. (my problem, i know)

So, when I hear Lady gaga "bad romance", I immediately hear it as just BKS, Robyn S, and Brittany Spears mashed together.

I'll stick the Bad romance tune in there though and plug my ears.

no... people change, their tastes in music changes.. new music comes out or they discover old music. my taste in music is different now than it was when i was in school.

sure i sometimes go back and listen to the stuff i used to but there's also a lot of music in my collection that looking back now i can wonder how i ever liked that crap enough to actually voluntarily pay to hear it.
When I was in high school the Beatles, CSNY, Led Zep were playing and I still dig those acts.

I figure that when we were of that age we identify songs with experiences. Most of us expereienced quite a bit back then so we remain Romantically, so to speak, tied to those old tunes.

this doesn't mean however that everyone is still in love with the music released in their youth.

i got into music during the whole 'brit pop' phase and did like a lot of it at the time but now there's only a couple of bands that can hold my attention from that time.
