You're much better off using Gimp if you can't afford PS 8. In fact, I think you're much better off using Gimp even if you can afford PS 8.
I'd love to contribute, but I'm not exactly a good photographer. I'm much better at criticising other peoples work. Do you have to take the picture yourself? I mean, what if I found a good picture on the web, gimped it a little and passed it off as mine? Would that be against the rules? :
You don't need to be a great photographer to participate. Some of the pictures I have entered were not very good and didn't get many points (if any), but it's still fun to participate. But of course you are also very welcome to participate as a critic even if you don't enter anything yourself. Entering pictures you haven't taken yourself is like using Fritz in your games, and if the pic mods find out about it, your picture taking rights will be taken from you, and you'll spend some years in jail. 🙄

I have a picture which would be great for this round, but I have been looking for it for months and can't find it. :'( I haven't been able to find anything else fitting this category either, and I don't have a digital camera yet, so most likely I'll not participate in this round.
