I don't know much about it, other than it is associated with Nietzsche. I once heard a joke about it, sort of. Nietzsche was teaching a class on Nihilism at a university. At the end of class, he went to the chalk board and wrote "God is dead--Nietzsche". The next morning, the students came to class. On the board was written "Nietzsche is dead--God". Not very funny, but I thought it was clever.
