Hey Noodles, Shav and I've been talking about typing. Do you use a dvorak keyboard?
Anyone here using it? How long now, and why? Can you type on both?
These are things I need to know.

Okay. So... say we want a typing competition, just to conclude that Shavixmir is the fastest typer the world has ever seen (or RHP anyways)... how do we go about arranging this competition d'kings of keyboard?

Originally posted by PhlabibitI use the Norwegian Dvorak keyboard layout. I decided to learn Dvorak when I started writing my thesis. I wanted to learn to touch-type, but I knew I would be too tempted to cheat if I could see the letters, so I switched to Dvorak. It's also cool and nerdy, and it reminds me of Antonin Dvorak, and the online course I found was a lot more fun than QWERTY (or QWERTZ if you are German) courses. I have been using the Dvorak layout for about nine years now. I switched to Norwegian Dvorak (which is basically the same, but with the Norwegian letters æ, ø and å added, and the upper row is like on the Norwegian keyboard rather than the American one) a few years ago. I can't touch-type in QWERTY, and as I use it very very rarely, it can take a while to find the letters.

We had a thread about typing speed a while ago. In that thread I linked to a page where you can test your typing speed and accuracy. But as I am leaving for Tokyo in seven hours, still need to finish packing and should also try to get some sleep, I am not going to look for the thread or the test now. I don't remember what my typing speed was, but I am pretty fast.
