@Very-Rusty saidHmmmm. There was, in the early 1800s, a wooden bridge connecting Ottawa to the Quebec side but it collapse in, either the 1830s or 40s, replaced by an iron one soon after. Not sure where “your” wooden bridge was.🤔
@GBS,
Thanks, I saw some pictures of Ontario looks like you guys are experiencing your own share of winter and cold temps too. Drive carefully and always watch for the other guy as I am sure you do. 😉 Some Crazy drivers in the Ottawa area also in Montreal! Just a little wooden bridge and you cross over into Quebec from Ottawa Ontario, found out about that when I visited back in 2001.

Back 2001, I was in Ottawa to visit with my brother. We went for a drive around so he could show me the place in my Cherokee Jeep I had rented for a few weeks while I was up there. Anyway we drove over what appeared to me to be a wooden bridge no signs indicating we were going into Quebec, Montreal to be more accurate unless you actually knew the area. I got lost in Ontario on my own and had to stop and ask how to get back to Ottawa. Something I rarely do but had no choice.
