Exist a convention to make people asociate North as the upper part of the planet?
Are people living in Alaska up and in Groenland down?
I have discused several times with people with a perspective of the world as the sphere is shown in class.
So, we live in a three-dimensional world with 6 directions, the cardinal points designate 4 and "up" and "down" both remaining. That 's my perception of the world.
It 's common in Cuba hear people saying: "the hurricane will affect the upper part of the country" to refer to provinces on the north. Then the discusion starts, sometimes with qualified people.

Seven's up, and Duck is down.
I've never considered up and down to be geographical terms, although i would go down the country for a weekend i guess. I doubt if the people in Alaska would give much of a crap about greenland to say up or down......The Russians next door, however, now that's foreign policy 😛
