Norton keeps displaying a message , every 20minutes or so.

its says something about a virus. but before iget a chance to read it.

it scrolls out of sight.

yes, i agree with your "back to older virus protection"

I like it when you know where you stand. and have access to your own PC.

I tried Zonelabs free firewall. |I used to use it years ago.

The modern version wouldnt let me get any internet access. I had to uninstall it.

Restart your PC in Safemode and run a virus check.
Then.... STOP DOWNLOADING PORN you pervert!!!!
Then, get yourself a decent anti-spyware/adware checker

Or you could just throw the computer down a load of stairs. This should be compulsory, especially when you are using NORTON!

This is true. NAV and their Norton Internet Protection take HUGH resources from your computer. They also cause a lot of CRASHES!!!

Yeah, I DUMPED those suckers last year, and I suggest you do the same.
