Ate the cheese, snails, frogs' legs; drank the shampers, went up the Eiffull Touwer, spoke bad English, did some letters, didn't have a bath for a month...

It's going to be the tour of the outsiders.
No telling who has a chance of winning it this year.
What gives it another kind of charm to watch it.
i know it sucks, i wish they would sort that out in every sport. maybe a life time banning would do it.

i think it will be good to watch because its so open, if i had to but a bet on it i would say landis but anyone can win.

Do you mean to tell me that you support some foreign team?
It's really all over now except the shouting and arguing and the writing of "Deutschland" on that bit of gold which is rightfully ours...

EDIT: Shouldn't swear about the refs...

Well, yes. I'm Irish, for a start, so I'd be up for us. Except the slight drawback that our manager messed that one up for us with Israel (two draws, two leads sacrificed), and a poor home performance against the French (having played them off the pitch in Paris), and two miserable draws against the tiresome Swiss. So you're not alone in resenting your gaffer, trust me.

But yes, I support Italy, all the way. Always have. Always will. And tonight I reckon they might give the Krauts a shock.

Har bluddy har.

They're all so worried about where their next backhander is coming from, every single one of them plays for a team that's under investigation for fraud or corruption...

Germany 4, Italy 0.

13 of the 23, to be precise. Only 4 teams are under investigation, Roma for example are not, neither are Inter, Palermo, Chievo or Igea Virtus.

And the last time this happened was 1982.

I don't think the Italian players have much to worry about personally-- I've seen no indication that any player has been implicated in the big ref-buying/match-fixing scandal. Their teams might wind up being relegated, but something tells me they won't have trouble putting food on the table.

And as it happens, the two players who have been most closely tied to the various other mini-scandals currently in circulation (Buffon and Cannavaro) have been among the best performers in the whole tournament.

Tennis is boring.

and the footie isn't finished.

What about Italy, France, Germany and Portugal or don't these 4 countries exist?

Except for Italy (who usually run away once things get past the shouting stage) we've beaten all the others many more times than we like to remember...
