Do they collect only long distance calls ? I think strictly local call are not recorded by the telephone companies. Any TELCO people: Is this correct ? --If they would keep records of local calls too, it would run into billions every day.)
This is an amazing problem, I thought having cameras everywhere was overboard but this is way out of line.

It is a problem, 'cuz once they use it for this, they will use it for that... and that.... and that. Next we will use it to find hamsters with genetic eye defects, and round them all up too.
It's neverending once we start.

Originally posted by sasquatch672Why do I have to be kidding? Are you telling me we shouldn't arrest and torture everyone who questions the government? Seems pretty obvious that we should to me. People who question the government are only trying to cause trouble and lead other people to question the government too. It's a cancer of society. If it weren't for the damn constitutionally guaranteed rights, I'd say, "kill 'em all."
You've got to be kidding me. Tell me you're kidding. This is George Orwell's Big Brother. East Germany ran a very similar program. It's totalitarian and fascist.
(hope this makes it obvious enough)
In the military I worked closely with the NSA, and I reported directly back to Arlington Hall. I can assure you that we're doing all we can to protect America, and if you're offended, that's just too bad. If you think the other sides are more altruistic and humanitarian, then go live in whatever Islamic/African/Communist paradise of your liking, you'll be much happier I'm sure.

Hate to cut and paste on you, but here we are.

So what? Just don't be a terrorist or conspirie to commit a criminal act and you're cool. The only people offended are wrongdoers.
