I have been playing at RHP for a little over a month (and I am glad to have been shown this site!) and have a question. I thought that the number of simultaneous games was limited to 6 for non-subscribers. In that I have to leave "two open slots" for a tournament I am involved in, I have kept the other games limited to a maximum of 4. Which is a shame, because I am not ready to subscribe yet and I have two other challenges which I have not taken so that I don't fill up those available slots. However (and here's the question!):

It appears that when I log into chessatwork.com - rather than redhotpawn.com - I may have as many as 10 available games even as a non-subscriber. Is this true? Is there truly a difference in the number of available simultaneous games depending upon which URL one uses to log in? Seems improbable, but perhaps someone here can let me know.

Thanks for filling in the gaps in my knowledge of this website.

I don't understand a lot of your post, but how are you discerning that you have 10 slots in chessatwork?

As I understand it, non-subscribers only ever have 6 games available.

They might have noticed the challenge filters on "my home" when they logged in. Although non subs can only have 6 concurrent games in progress the challenge filter is a default value of 10.

Even though this states 10, when a non sub attempts to create a 7th game it will give you the apologetic advisory note and suggest you subscribe. So the cap of 6 is still in place but the challenge filter default is a little misleading.

Thank you very much...that explains it precisely. I didn't want to find out by forfeiting games that the concurrent limit was always 6 for non-subscribers - and indeed it was the challenge filter on the chessatwork.com home page which - set at 10 - led me to think there might be a difference between the sites. Appreciate the info. Regards, M
