I have a 780 in a rig i bought in 2010. My trouble is whether it could handle the new cards. Apparently the 1070 is faster than the Titanx at only $399, the 1080 $599.
If i knew my processor could handle it i'd be ricking these babies on release day.

I've heard that processor and monitor are the big items that may need an upgrade.
Most sites I've seen say that any recent generation i5 could handle it, but I might want to make sure with an i7. Also, it is said that if your monitor is 1080p @ 60hz, the gtx 1080 would be massive overkill as would anything over a 970 or so. I see 27" 1440p as a minimum to see a big difference.
I mean, damn, the thing has 8gb memory on the card. My mainboard memory in my current computer is 8gb. I also hear the more impressive thing is that the card runs cooler than most Nvidias even with all that tech on it (or maybe because of it).
