O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

What kind of crap is that? Three of the last four lines end in 'thee'. Does nothing rhyme with that all of a sudden?

What the hell is patriot love anyway? Does it involve a giant missile? Or Mel Gibson?

And let's not get started on the glowing heart nonsense. More like bleeding heart.

We all go out
Then we all come home
But I fall asleep with the TV on
At 3 AM they play "O Canada"
True patriot love and lalalalala
True patriot love and lalalalala

Is it easy for you Canadians to use English around the forums?
Do you have forums where you can speak Canadian?

The original lyrics to "O Canada" are French and were written nearly thirty years before the English ones. Also, O Canada did not become the offical National Anthem until 1980.

Your questions are nonsensical and retarded.

I particularly like the last verse and the bit about frustrating knavish tricks:

God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen:
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen.

O Lord, our God, arise,
Scatter her enemies,
And make them fall.
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save the Queen.

Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
God save the Queen 1.

Not in this land alone,
But be God's mercies known,
From shore to shore!
Lord make the nations see,
That men should brothers be,
And form one family,
The wide world o'er.

From every latent foe,
From the assassins blow,
God save the Queen!
O'er her thine arm extend,
For Britain's sake defend,
Our mother, prince, and friend,
God save the Queen!

Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the Queen!

At least Canada was able to make up her mind, and select one.

These facts are boring and trivial.

You should hear the Dutch anthem. Singing about being from German blood (well, actually, it is from 'Dietschen' blood, which sound like 'Duitsen' which is Dutch for Germans; but being from German blood is what stands nowadays).

No, the anthem is not from around world war II...

Its infurating not being able to get any Canadian news in the US. Its like Canuckland doesn't even exist. CNN is crap as are all the local stations. I want to know what's going on in the world and not about someone's stupid fluffy dog that got eaten by an alligator. I don't care that one of the local politicians has been in a gay incestious realtionship, who cares! Do we really need 6 months of coverage on whether or not to pull the plug on a comatose potato? Do I really care that one teacher or another had sex with various 12 year old students... give me a break! Thank God for the BBC or I'd be in the dark completely.

All Canadian news has been postponed until the NHL playoffs are finished.
