This looks like a rerun of the 1980's. Preppies', Yuppies, and the (slightly desperate) attempts to appear successful. I guess it's OK, but I prefer the stealth wealth style of the today's genuine upper class.

Yeah it was all power dressing ,girls with padded shoulders,big hair,then came the new romantics.what goes round comes round,I remeber the late 60s guys carrying umbrellas,trench/frock coats(had one myself )plus the clyde barrow hat and my patent leather shoes) I thought I looked the dogs do dahs but was probaly a plonker.

Is this what you mean or do the Americans have it all wrong? (As I expect.)

If this article has it right, half my wardrobe is "old-money" and I never knew.
