BELATED BIRTHDAY GREETINGS!
Happy birthday (August 23, 1906) to the
oldest active sportsman in the world, ICCM
Zoltan Sarosy of Toronto, still playing
correspondence chess at age 105 !
I tried this on the Only Chess forum and no one, *(well, one), paid attention.
So, try, try again.
Who's the oldest chess player here on RHP?
Grampy Bobby volunteered his age of 69, and thus is the reigning #1.
Can anyone honestly top that? There must be someone.
Let's be honest now. No confabulating. There are several trick questions us oldsters can only answer to trip up the impersonators, so ...

You are reffering to the guy who amputated his own arm in that situation? I don't know what became of him, but he surely ahs the guts to become an old man 🙂

I know of at least three others on RHP older than GB.

They can say who they are if they like.
It is not my place to do so.

I turned 78 in August. I arrived in 1933 with King Kong, FDR and repeal.

Red Night is one I bet. He explained the first World Series like he was sitting in the bleachers.

I just have to believe you! Who would admit that their mother suffered through a third trimester in the summer unless it actually happened! Some women just never think ahead! (Why they can't play chess. Oooh, I'm goin' to pay for that.)
Also my personal favorite for a b-day month! Along with Huey Long, Fred McMurray and Jon Claude Killey. Not to mention Janet Woodcock.
A new #1! HandyAndy!
Anyone care to beat it?

I'm honored, but I can't believe I'm truly the oldest. I'm just a kid.
There has to be an octogenarian around here somewhere.

Maybe should look for movie titles as a sign of age. Short Circuit ain't young, but if there's a Gone with the Wind out there, he might be a winner! Better yet, The Jazz Singer!
