and i think it was 2/3rds of all russians belevied that stalin was their greatest leader. ever. this was after the fall of communism...(lenin beat him, obviously...)

chess is good. chess is fun. we could have, like, the top 20 playing against those with the best ration of wins to losses (macdonan's lost 15 games, and isn't in the top 20...you've gotta wonder about some people...)

It amazes me that something innocuous as a suggestion for a world chess tournament turns into a USA/Bush bashing...you people never cease to amaze me...if you want to bash my country start another thread...otherwise, shut up or talk tournament chess...🙄

On a side note, the chess column in my local paper reproduced a game of Stalin vs. one of his aides. Apparently Lenin was an excellent player and Stalin wanted to emulate him but wasn't quite so good.
