I don't think so either, but... you never know with that little FIDE-
dictator. Chess is not just a sport. It's much more than that. So, let's
protest against him. Silly to cut down time-limits and all that. Money,
money, money... It makes the world go round, but since I'm a fervent
fan of Naomi Klein...
And being olympic, chess-players would also be subjected to doping
controls. Anyone out there who can give a list with products that
makes your game better, ratings higher, being a champ? Please, tell
me then! I'm anxious to know. I don't mean strong, black coffee,
Coca Cola, Pepsi...
The chessworld should go back to basics. Normal time-limits: 40
moves/2 hrs - 20 moves/1 hr - 30 minutes KO. That's maximum 7
hours. Result: better games, intricate endings, for which there's no
time with the actual 1 hr 30' KO limit.
At chessbase.com, as well as at The Chess Cafe, Yasser Seirewan has
published an intelligent, commonsensical and extensive proposal of
how to realise the new WCh cycles. Yasser has done a great job. If it's
not accepted, or something similar, chess is doomed.
