I have seen that lately when I brush the mothballs of of some of my
old openings I am doing alot better. Every sicillian I used to play the
Alapin 2.c3...but I was always getting bad positions when I used to
crush with it in tourney play. Now I have been playing open and finding
that those old lines still work and give good tactical positions. It
seems once an opening has been analyzed to death...like the Najdorf
or the Lopez...popularity weakens. But they come back quick.
I would like to say I am still unbeaten with the PCG...I take alot of
pride in that one. I used to have a website devoted to it.
Does anyone else see this trend or feel like sharing what openings
work for awhile...then don't?
