erm-mine doesn;t have an option for http server...😛
Try:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/oe/setup.mspx
All the information is there. Just follow the instructions.
Note: If you chose HTTP as your incoming e-mail server—as for a Hotmail or MSN account—this wizard page changes slightly so you can identify your HTTP mail service provider.

i'm confused...all i really need is the pop server address...or how to set up the http one, cause it doesn't have an option for that. neither does thunderbird...
In OE click:
Tools > Accounts > Add > Mail >[input display name] > input email addy (hotmail one) > on email server page choose:
HTTP Server (as server type)
Hotmail (as mail service provider)
this should fill in the server url for you...
Then fill in your account name and password, and you are away once you click finish.
Of course... this is OE on XP home, if you have different Operating System it may differ a little (but is not impossible, I had it sorted on OE via Win 98 on my last PC.

Before you do that, go download Mozilla Thunderbird and uninstall Outlook.

is it possible to set outlook express up for use with a hotmail account? and if so, how...
1) Outlook express is highly dangerous and armed. If spotted it should not be approached, talked to , or used.
2) Contact Mozilla for non dangerous programs
this is public service announcement from microsoft
