david tebb
always gracious and encouraging, he contributed to my knowledge of the morra gambit with 2 terrific games that are on the veggiechess site
feivel
i had tripled my pawns and was set to resign with a clear conscience against him - he insisted that i fight on and not quit. he won not only the game (which proved to be quite interesting after all),but also my admiration for his kindness
bbarr
an exciting and courteous player who researched the new opening i was playing during the game against him
sintubin
never played him, but his tutelege on rhp is legendary as many can attest and i certainly appreciated some of the profound ideas he passed on to me
donnell
he had me clearly beaten, yet he offered to draw if i wished it - the game was just for fun he said. so how could i not let this wonderful sport have the fun of finishing the game as it should be
littlebear
offered me extra time as well as to practise through openings so i could improve
fernando
another gentleman who is full of encouragement and got me started on the road to annotation
brettl
an amazing and kind player who went out of his way to provide me with several games for an opening i was studying
that's all for now from me. i should add that all these players thrashed me. think how much nicer i would have written about them if i had won. my present opponents may want to take note of this point 😉

My list will be in alphabetical order by login name:
bbarr - One of my favorite infidels on RHP 🙂 I've only just begun to get to know him, but already I count him as a friend. Meeting him over a game was almost like meeting a celebrity: he's a top RHP player and is well known in the forums.
Cheshire Cat - My very first friend on RHP. Good games and good chats.
Coach Pre - A brother in Christ and a dear friend. Thanks for everything, Clayton!
Dan Albright - Challenged me out of the blue one day and struck up a conversation. One of the friendliest people I've ever met.
jcandance - Original leader of the White Hats Clan. May God watch over him and keep him safe.
Kalte Sterne - Gave me my first loss on RHP 🙂
Phlabibit - Only recently got around to having a game with him, but he was nice enough to host a photo for my profile when I got my star. Looking forward to getting to know him better. East coast!
Pyrrho - Like myself, an enthusiastic player of non-standard openings. We're planning on starting a game soon beginning 1.f4 b5 😀 Great conversation in-game.
royalchicken - Like a brother in many ways. His intelligence is legendary at RHP. Perhaps as well known, but less often mentioned, is his outstanding character, which is much more important. He is sensitive and wise, as well as smart. God bless you, Mark.
This list is not exhaustive!
Only been a member a little while, but ChessGodess (also a newcomer) has been alot of fun to play with. Gracious in defeat both times I played her, and is now even keener to prove a point to me.
If all you veterans are as respectful and respectable as her, then I look forward to our games.
regards
Neil

All HPS clan members of course belong on this list out of general principle... though I haven't played all of them. 🙂
Here's a few people I've played against I'd like to mention:
Huntingbear - Very interesting discussion alongside with unorthodox chess possitions. Despite our different world views, we have very much in common.
Ivanhoe - always tough, interesting games; just a matter of time till he whoops my chessic butt in a game! Provocative discussions in the forums, always interesting.
Trad - was pitted against him in the New Moakt tournament (which has still to finish the first round after about half a year - due to finnish sometime 2010), and played the two most challenging and exiting matches against him, each of us winning one. Invited him into the clan, and was delighted to see him accept. Planning a website with Trad for the HPS clan, due to be finnished around the same time as the New Moakt tournament. I'm afraid that it's me lagging a bit behind in the project... but worry not, I'll get there...
Wucky3 - A recent addition to the clan, a very nice person, and eager to learn. In this all too male-dominated pass-time, it's always nice to see memebers of the fairer sex enjoying the game also! 🙂
makiev - Always a tough opponent, with an interesting game to offer, beat me once, now going for a repeat performance.... not if I can help it! 😉
JMP - Recently fought through one of the toughest games I've had here against JMP, after an early blunder where I droped a piece! Managed a draw by perpetual check in the end, in a highly tactical game. JMP is a strong player returning to the game after a 15 year pause... I fear that my difficulties over the board against this courteous oppponent are only begining... 🙂
If I forgot some, which, knowing my good but short memory I probably did, I'm sorry!

Just about everyone I've ever played is great.
I enjoy the higher rated players that coax me on in a bad position..
I like the lower rated players brave enough to come play me rated even though I offer an unrated game..
I like the people who chat in the game weather it's about sports, RHP, cartoons, video games, life, food, or anything!
I like the people who say "good game" on the final move.
I like the people who find you in the forums and PM you to see if you'd like a game.
I like the people who send you a game with a good title. I've only declined a few games, and never a game with a good name.
I was going to try to make a list but letters A B and C were already about 7 people. 😉
