A post for the geeks out there from the UK. My goal is to have my Sky box feed into a PC and then have the PC record input, then feed recordings or direct show to TV.

Anyone know if this can be done or good forums to post this type of question

Thanks much

Of course it can be. The Sky box has analogue outputs so you can always use them as a last resort. Just need a video capture card, some software to err capture video and you're good to go.

Here's a good forum for that type of question - this link goes to a similar type of thread from someone else. [I think it's similar to what you mean anyway]

[although that is mainly talking about with Windows MCE]

Really don't wanna give them more of my money especially since as a long time customer I am penalized and have pay much more than a brand new customer for 'adding' to my existing service. Personally I hate sky, but they provide only way I can get access to programs I enjoy. So what I want to do is start using "downloading to PC" for some programs and then just record for other.

I hate them too. The modem in my Sky Box died 1 day after the warranty was up on it and they wanted to charge me £75 to fix it. I popped onto eBay and picked up a brand new box for £25.

That's one of the things that p*sses me off. Lived in the states most of my life, had cable for years, using various companies and if THEIR equipment broke which prevented me from getting the service I paid for they would replace the box. Done! So many little things like that over here you just wouldn't get away with in US.
