360 downloads, somebody told me about here and I love it. They have everything and they are really fast.

Shareaza and BearShare.

The former is best for multiple-network searching, including BitTorrents. The latter can be more successful but requires a little caution in terms of installation and usage.

Edit: Shareaza is "open source" software. Another advantage.

Limewire is good. It isn't free though, but at £20 for unlimited use, it is well worth it. The download speeds are quite fantastic.

Limewire is available for free. It used to be good but, sadly, it no longer uses Java efficiently and is too slow.

Perhaps the £20 fee speeds things up a little then. 😉

I use soulseek myself. I have never used anything else so I cannot rate it comparatively.

Doubt it. The cost version uses Java too.

I paid my £20 for limewire pro and its fast, and have no real complaints.

Java is an object orientated programming language btw, so how on earth could inefficient use of it possibly effect download speeds. Surely these are reliant on bandwidth, routing hardware configuration and proper usage of routing protocols. I smell a wat.

Why would you wish to pay for something you can get for free? I don't mean just Limewire. Look at the alternatives.

It also uses system resources. This is where the inefficiency lies.
