I was delving into my statistics in order to preserve a modicum of self dignity, following a loss of over 100 points in one week. Well, whilst looking for some sort of ego-boost, like beating an 1800 ranked player or something, I stumbled across the split of clan games, tournament games etc. It became apparent that my performance varies greatly in differing arenas:

---------------- WIN---DRAW---LOSE
Clan games: - 102 --- 11 ----- 58
Tournament: -- 19 ---- 2 ------ 28
Clan League: --- 2 ---- 0 ------ 5
Assorted other: 76 ---- 6 ------ 77

So it seems that I play a lot better for my clan than I do for myself and also that my tournament play is rubbish. I was wondering how this compared to other people's performance. Do you find you play better in tournaments or clans, or just for yourself?

funnily enough, i was looking at this the other day. here's my stats:

WHITE
won:64
drawn:6
lost:27
WON AS WHITE: 65%

BLACK:
won:73
drawn:5
lost:28
WON AS BLACK: 68%

is it normal to win more as black than as white?

Here are mine.

---------------- WIN---DRAW---LOSE
Clan games: - 316 --- 84 ----- 216
Tournament: -- 490 ---- 30 ------ 77
Clan League: --- 20 ---- 2 ------ 14
Assorted other: 156 ---- 20 ------ 108

Looks like I do best at tournaments, I can only guess that's because I come up against a lot more lower rated players than I would in the clan match-ups.

5 1 4 with Two timeouts as well

Most played opponents
Ive been dominated most by Ironman31 0-0-16

ChessH
24 2 12 with 3 timeouts
Cheshire Cat
22 2 13 with 7 Timouts
Ed Benheim
Forgot to get exact stats but 29 games with 3 to's
FaithNoMore
18 0 2
GGoulam
11 2 13 with 7 Timeouts
Gumbie
20 1 11 with 9 timeouts
LastpawnStanding
17 2 9 with 6 Timeouts
LatexBishop
18 1 5 with 1 Timeout

Ouroboros
9 4 21 with 9 Timeouts
Here is my favorite stat
12 7 33 with 17 Timeouts and 8 early resignations due to lowering games.

The categorie i seem to do somewhat well is tournament, even though 70 percent of my losses are timeouts, its pretty crazy, and im dissapointed in the clan stat even though i have won some important clan games!

I could't care less about my stats and perfromance generally. Just enjoy playing the games. Some players I suspect hold out from making moves in the hope their other games will alter their performance score before they lose or beat me. Not sure though if this is right. Not being a mathematicin can anyone tell me if it makes any difference over (say 20 games) the order in which you win or lose the games?

Exy this means you are a good palyer.

By contrast I lose most of my tournament games - although I know i'm going to when I enter. But I've always been a bit of a machocist.

Maybe this is why:
I find I lose a lot of games to people ranked (p1200) in particular. Maybe they are experienceing beginers luck. When you play a (p1200) player you shouldn't lose rating points when you inevitably lose. You are doing The Rating GOD a favour by giving a chance to the Rating GOD to assess your opponent. Furthermore you are helping Mr (p1200) get started on the site.

Maybe your rating suffers in you put yourself up for a game in open invites.

Therefore it is only clan games where my stats are mildly favourable.
