@divegeester saidIn many cases, I just pay the extra.
Have you even felt, or known even, that you were being illegal or unfairly discriminated against?
If so, what do you do about it, if anything?
@divegeester saidIt's no secret that, in its early years, the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket was disinclined to pick players from Britain to play in any of its franchises. Being British myself, I felt I personally bore part of the brunt of this discrimination, and so the last game of cricket I ever played for was Chirk C.C. in the North Wales Cricket League.

@fmf saidMaybe it was an aversion born on previous generational colonialism🤷♂️

@chris-guffogg saidThe Irish people who had some unspecific notion that I would be descended from them in the future were victims of previous generational colonialism at the hands of the English for 100s of years, so it's a pity that the cricket authorities in India did not feel some affinity for me.

@divegeester saidYes. Shake my head and walk away.

@fmf said🤷♂️fair point. As a part of the English nation that was then, this is now. I got categorised for Basketball because I'm tall (as a teenager), King hated the sport🚬

it was a fight in the mid 60's
it got physical at times
both my brother an i wanted to grow our hair out like the british bands we heard on the radio
dad was beyond furious
from that time forward there have been many times my long hair has gotten me profiled
arguing/fighting with the sheriff only got the detainment tougher and the restraints applied tighter
not even the threat of legal recourse made the establishment back off for very long
i've been gaslighted to think that all the drug testing done throughout the 80's 90's and oughts was my fault
just because i wore my hair long
