My friends got in and one of them passed their trainers out of a ground-floor window and so I was able to get in. My sandals were very much part of my identity and personhood at that time. Trainers were not. And my footwear did not affect my ability to dance to disco music. I believe I was unfairly discriminated against at a very personal level.
