Added to this, I work in the hospitality industry. It looks just plain wong to deal with those that showing tattoos and piercings all over. In an industry where image is everything, having someone with a chain pierced to their nose and ear just does not deliver the message that this is a quality business.
Now I know that this brings in the debate of discrimination, but this isn't against any race, or sex, or even sexual orientation. Just appearance. Those who may have a deformaty that was not voluntarily placed on their body can be accepted, Piercings and tattoos can not.

I'm into piercing. I think it's attractive if done right and can add to sexual pleasure as well. I've had my tongue and eyebrow pierced, though I don't have them in now and my eyebrow probably healed up. I keep the tongue hole open though.

Yeah the tongue hurt. I don't remember it being excruciating (sp?) but it was painful.
Isn't a tongue piercing incredibly uncomfortable? Can you even talk normally with it? Do you have to take it out when eating?
It's definitely uncomfortable at first. After you get used to it it's not, though occasionally I'd bite the stud while eating or it will smack the bottom teeth while talking. I'm going to get one with soft rubber ends whenever I get around to replacing it. I lost one of the ends for my last one.
The swelling takes maybe a month to go down at first, which is annoying.

I heard someone's tongue fell off due to health complications. 😕
