"Here am I sitting in my tin can
    Far above the world
    Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do"
    ~ David Bowie

    Is Planet Earth "blue"?
Is it right to say that there's nothing we can do?
To what degree are you sitting in a tin can of your own making?

I'm growing weary of people constantly mentioning David Bowie and radio stations playing his songs 5 times a day.

It's the Micheal Jackson fiasco all over again.

You mentioned him yet again in your post! If you think about what the OP asks, there was no need to mention his name again in this discussion. 😀

Having said that, I can't think of many things that have the ability to make one more humble and small than watching Earth from the ISS spacestation.

What I meant was, the thread isn't about David Bowie ~ and it's not clear why you think it is! 😛

I never claimed or insinuated this thread was about David Bowie, Ghost of a Duke.

The obsession with the 'end times' and the certainty that 'the end is nigh' seems to be strongest and most prevalent among Americans. If this is true, what cultural factors contribute to this?

Why is it that so many of your posts are of the "When did you last beat your wife?" category?

And yet this OP's questions are not in the "When did you last beat your wife?" category. Not at all. They are three straight forward questions that seek to canvass opinions about the state of the world we live in.

Do you have any responses to the questions in the OP?
