I completely agree with you on that.

Funny though, if I said to you "I'm sorry I'm late" in my fathers language,

I would say, "Je suis desole, je suis en retard". Retard meaning late.

Maybe if some people here spoke more than one language then it might not
bother them about playing someone who has little or no English.
